Matching the weeks to your test date

Four weeks suits a supervisor who is already booked and studies most evenings. Eight weeks, the plan that opens by default, gives each domain room at four or five short sessions a week. Twelve weeks fits a candidate who has just been approved and has a long season of overtime ahead; BCSP allows one year from approval to pass (BCSP STSC page, as of October 2026).

Shorter plans don't skip domains. They spend less time on the lighter ones, such as Leadership and Ethics at 13.2%, and keep the hours on Hazards and on Safety Program Implementation at 23.9% (STSC7 blueprint, V.2020.03.27).

One study session

  1. Read one sheet

The topic sheet linked under that week's Do this. Twenty minutes is plenty.

  2. Answer its cards

Answer every card on the sheet, then read the note on each option you got wrong.

  3. Flip the numbers

Five minutes on the flashcards for the limits in that domain.

  4. Log the misses

Write down the topic of every miss. Next session starts with that list.

Keeping to the plan

What if I fall a week behind?

Skip ahead instead of doubling up. Take the domain cards on the practice set for the week you missed, and read only the sheets for the topics you got wrong.

Should I change plans halfway through?

Switch when your exam date moves. The weeks line up by domain, so moving from the 12-week plan to the 8-week one means picking up at the first domain you haven't covered yet.
