Sheet 42Exam fact

What is the passing score for the STSC?

BCSP does not publish a passing score for the STSC: no number of correct answers, no percentage, no scaled score. The standard comes from a panel review BCSP calls a Passing Score Activity, and one for the STSC is on BCSP's calendar for Nov 9–10, 2026, so everything below is as of October 2026.

Published passing scoreNone

BCSP publishes no number, percentage or scale for passing the STSC. Its fee sheet adds that "fees and passing scores are subject to change without advance notice" (as of October 2026).

How BCSP sets the line

BCSP's exam development page describes the Passing Score Activity as "an activity for evaluating the questions that appear on the examination to determine an appropriate passing score." Credential holders sit on that panel, and the cut comes out of their review of the items.

Some prep sites print a percentage anyway. None of those figures appears in BCSP's fee sheet, its Complete Guide or its STSC page, and this site does not repeat them.

Scoring rules BCSP does publish

Compensatory scoring
The overall score decides the result. In BCSP's words, "Scoring well in one subject area can compensate for a weaker score in another subject area," though your strong areas may not hold enough items to carry you alone.
Only correct answers count
Each right answer moves you toward the passing score. Nothing else adds to it.
No guessing penalty
"There is no penalty for selecting an incorrect answer." A blank is the only sure zero.
Result on the spot
You get your result at the test center right after you submit.

What to aim for without a number

Aim for coverage. Work every domain, then spend extra time where the blueprint weight is high and your own results are low. The timed STSC mock ends with a score by domain, which tells you where next week should go. A score on our mock is a study signal and does not predict a BCSP result.

For a plain answer on difficulty, read is the STSC exam hard. If a first attempt does not pass, the STSC retake policy covers the six-week wait and the cost.

Still looking for a number

Is there a percentage you need to pass the STSC?

BCSP has not published one as of October 2026. A percentage you see elsewhere does not come from BCSP's fee sheet, Complete Guide or STSC page.

Could the STSC passing score change after November 2026?

It could. BCSP lists an STSC Passing Score Activity for Nov 9–10, 2026, and its fee sheet V.2026.04.01 says passing scores can change without advance notice (as of October 2026).

Do you find out at the test center whether you passed?

Yes. BCSP's Complete Guide says you receive your result immediately after you submit the exam at the testing center (as of October 2026).
